Stevie Wonder is one of the greatest musicians of all time and at 75 years old, he has no plans to retire anytime soon. During a new interview with BBC’s Sidetracked podcast on Monday, July 21, the Motown legend revealed that he will keep performing as long as he can. “For as long as you breathe, for as long as your heart beats, there’s more for you to do,” Wonder told host Annie Mac. “I’m not gonna stop the gift that keeps pouring through my body.” He went on to explain that “an artist doesn’t stop drawing just because.” Instead, “you keep on. So as long as you can imagine, as long as you are going to be creative, and as long as you let your mind work, you don’t have to retire.”  The 25-time Grammy Award winner said he still gets excited about music just like he did when he released his first album at 12. “I love playing music, that’s like my mantra. I think I can do all the stuff I want to do – still have fun and do what I need to do – but I’m not going to stop the gift that keeps pouring through my body,” he said. “I love doing what I’m doing,” Wonder added. While some artists may have an issue playing their hits, Wonder loves to play the hits from his enormous catalog. “Songs are like children, they’re with you forever,” he said. ‘They are statements from the spirit within you, and singing those songs is like me taking another breath.”  Recently, Wonder answered all the conspiracy theories about him not being blind. “I must say to all of you, something that I was thinking, ‘When did I want to let the world know this?’ But I wanted to say it right now,” Wonder said at tour stop in Wales. “You know there have been rumors about me seeing and all that? But seriously, you know the truth.” “Truth is, shortly after my birth, I became blind,” Wonder continued. “Now, that was a blessing because it’s allowed me to see the world in the vision of truth, of sight. See people in the spirit of them, not how they look. Not what color they are, but what color is their spirit?” Currently, Wonder is performing on the “Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart Tour,” with shows in Pittsburgh, New York City, and Atlanta.

Jermaine Dupri is hoping that former Migos members Offset and Quavo will officially reconcile.   During an appearance on the BagFuel podcast, the So So Def founder shared his thoughts on the Migos’ breakup and how it forever changed the world of hip-hop in Atlanta. “That hurt a lot of the city, period,” he explained. “The Migos breaking up was a bad situation for Atlanta because they was moving — and I think they’re better together anyway, me personally.” He also shared how Takeoff’s death left a void in Atlanta and how the city is still grieving. “It was really crazy for us. I ain’t think Atlanta ni**as was gonna die,” Dupri recalled. “An Atlanta rapper dying felt like ‘Aw damn, what the f**k is going on?’ It felt crazy to me.” Less than a month before Takeoff died, Quavo and Takeoff’s collaborative album,  Only Built For Infinity Links, was released. The project was the last to involve Migos member. While  Quavo and Offset briefly reunited for a surprise performance at the 2023 BET Awards, they are not as close as they once were. One of the last times they were spotted together was with friends and family to honor Takeoff on what would have been his 31st birthday. On Instagram, Quavo said he would always honor Takeoff’s memory. “Happy Birthday Take!!! Tyler, The Creator doesn’t want reviews of his new album after one day. Moving. Expressing. Sweating,” he wrote. “It felt like that pent up energy finally got released.” Currently, Tyler is still performing the “Chromakopia” tour, finishing out a four-night run at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in New York City on Friday. After some upcoming dates in North America, before he heads overseas to Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. Then, he’s off to the  Philippines for two final dates at Araneta Coliseum on September 20-21.

Bill Cosby speaks out following the passing of actor Malcolm Jamal-Warner. As previously reported, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the actor who became a household name as Theo Huxtable on the groundbreaking sitcom The Cosby Show, has tragically passed away at the age of 54.  According to TMZ, Warner died while vacationing with his family in Costa Rica after drowning in Playa Cocles, a beach in the Limón province known for its strong rip currents. His death has been officially ruled as asphyxia by drowning. Ennis was shot and killed during a failed robbery attempt.  Wyatt also revealed that the last time Cosby spoke to Warner, he said that he was excited about a concert happening in Minneapolis and “felt like he was changing the world.” According to his rep, Cosby said that Malcolm-Jamal Warner “made a lasting impact with his life and career that will continue to change the world.”  Bill reported says,”every young man growing up in the projects back in the day wanted to be like Warner and to have a family like the Huxtables.” May he rest peacefully.

William Anthony McNeil Jr., a 22-year-old Black man, was seen in police bodycam footage being struck in his face several times by Jacksonville law enforcement officers According to ABC News, the violent video shows sheriff’s deputies repeatedly “beating and punching” McNeil during a traffic stop that took place on Feb. 19, 2025. He is heard questioning the officers why he was being pulled over. McNeil then refused to leave his car. T.K. Waters, Sheriff of Jacksonville, said that “the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law,” but noted that the  deputies’ actions are under “administrative review” to determine if they violated “JSO policy.” He also identified the deputy who broke the car window and punched McNeil as Officer D. Bowers. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom) “These administrative reviews are ongoing, but the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law, even though the administrative review has yet to be completed,” Waters said during a news conference. “Pending the outcome of this administrative review, Officer Bowers has been stripped of his law enforcement authority,” Waters continued.  Waters did not disclose if the deputies had been placed on suspension or placed on administrative leave.  According to court records, McNeil was arrested and charged with “resisting arrest without violence to his or her person, possessing not more than 20 grams of marijuana with intent to use drug paraphernalia, driving while driver’s license is suspended, not wearing a seatbelt, and no headlights in rain/fog/or smoke.” Eventually, McNeil was sentenced to and served two days in jail for “resisting arrest without violence and driving with a suspended license.” Harry Daniels, McNeil’s lawyer, said that his client plans to take legal action. “This officer broke his window and just punched him in his face. Mr. McNeil suffered very significant injury,” Daniels said. “We are planning to do everything we can do to secure justice,” Daniels went on. “We are seeking all options to ensure accountability.”

TMZ reports that Raekwon’s HashStoria cannabis dispensary, which opened its doors last November, might be closing up shop for good. Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that on Friday (July 18), a judge ruled in favor of the landlord, BMHC LLC, demanding that HashStoria vacate the premises no later than July 1. However, Raekwon doesn’t see it that way and told the outlet, “We were hoodwinked, and while it’s a very sad outcome, we will have our day in court!” According to a representative for the rapper’s HashStoria dispensary, they do plan to sue and claim the initial agreement with the landlord had not been honored. Per Rae’s rep, the back rent was to be “prorated” while the building was under construction, which took significantly longer than expected. HashStoria reached an agreement with BMHC LLC to suspend payments due to zero revenue at the time. Despite allegedly being billed as a “Black-owned business,” HashStoria’s rep says, “communities aren’t owned by people of color and have to deal with constant red tape.” They plan to sue BMHC LLC for violating their rental agreement during construction and “poisoning” their million-dollar operation through the use of illegal vendors. On the other hand, BMHC LLC tells TMZ that they support the court’s decision, stating they provided HashStoria with ample time to pay the rent following the grand opening.

Snoop Dogg is continuing to expand his business portfolio. After teasing his involvement with the Swansea City AFC teams on social media, Snoop is now one of the co-owners of the Welsh soccer team. According to AllHipHop, Snoop and Croatia World Cup finalist Luka Modric each own a minority stake deal with the soccer team.
